The Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters

Have you ever wanted to explore a lighthouse? Well today is your day! Visitors are welcome to come and walk up 88 steps to the top of the lighthouse and explore the belongings of the lighthouse Keepers. This lighthouse stood and brought military and commercial vessels home safely by helping them to navigate their way back into shore.

This lighthouse is unique for a couple of reasons. The lighthouse opened in 1848 and was opened by a woman, which was extremely uncommon at the time. Over time, advancements have been made to the lighthouse and is now able to see from a farther distance. This is to your advantage today, so come and see amazing views from the lighthouse!

Right by Mallory's seaport is The Custom House. The Custom House was opened in 1891 and was originally the island's postal service, district courts, and more! It kept up with the increasing population, trade routes, and maritime industries. The building became the headquarters for the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico operations.

You can come and enjoy some amazing architecture by touring the house and exploring the two floors of exhibitions that do an amazing job of telling the stories of history, art, people, and events.
